That is relevant to my interests. I’m actually writing an unofficial biography on him. I will read your interview with the greatest interest.

I got one for you!

In Doug’s earlier pieces for Jalopnik, he often took up to six paragraphs to get to the point. His introductions were long and rambling and featured off-topic and un-funny anecdotes.

But now his writing has much more punch: he gets to the point much faster, and his anecdotes, similes and metaphors are more amusing.

So the question is: was this improvement a conscious effort on his part, or did it just evolve naturally the more he wrote?

P.S. I ask in part because I called him out for the above in a comment once. He seemed to brush it off, later saying “Some guy named Dunnik doesn’t like my writing” but ever since then I’ve seen a marked improvement. No writer likes criticism, but it’s one of the only ways one can improve.

Hints at the Skyline replacement? Maybe in the form of a riddle to solve?

When will he finally track the GT-R? I asked him when I met him in May (right after he took the Hummer to NJMP), and he said he will but hasn’t yet.

Also, in an episode of WCSYB (it was luxury car under $50k), Doug said he really likes the Audi S3 and CLA45 AMG. Ask him if he would legitimately consider trading the GT-R and Hummer in for one of them.

Why and how did he leave his cushy job at Porsche and start doing this madness for a living instead?

I feel like he’s addressed this, at least indirectly, in a few of his articles; like this one http://jalopnik.com/how-do-you-get…

But I would be curious to hear a bit more about it.

I removed your reshare. It’s spamming. There’s no reason this 4hr-old post needs to be bumped in my eyes.

Let me know if you have questions

Understandable, was on fence about doing it.

figured it was Barried enough that some of the afternoon regulars might not see it,

I'm sorry, I will make an effort to not let it happen again.
